Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how GujaratiPDF ("the App", "we", "us") handles information when you use our Android application. GujaratiPDF is built around a simple principle: your documents stay on your device. We do not run servers that store, view or process your PDFs.

GujaratiPDF does not require an account, login or sign-up. We do not collect, transmit or store:

• Your PDF files, scanned pages, images or exported documents
• The text content of documents you create, edit, annotate or sign in the App
• File names, folder structure or your device's file system contents
• Your signature images, saved signature templates, or app-lock PIN/biometric data
• Contact lists, location, or any other personal data not described below

All PDF viewing, editing, annotation, signing, page management, merging, splitting, compressing, locking/unlocking, image conversion, scanning and OCR happen using on-device processing (pdfium, Syncfusion PDF, ML Kit Document Scanner and Tesseract OCR), without any file ever being uploaded to us or a third party.

3. The One Network Feature: Gujarati Transliteration

The "type in English, get Gujarati suggestions" feature (used in the Gujarati Document creator, Text to PDF, and Gujarati add-text tools) requires an internet connection. As you type, each phonetic word (for example, "kem") is sent to Google's public transliteration API (inputtools.google.com) to fetch Gujarati word suggestions, and the suggestions are returned to the App.

• Only the word currently being typed is sent — not your full document, file names, or any other content.
• No Google account, API key or sign-in is required, and we do not attach any identifying information to these requests beyond what your network connection inherently sends (such as IP address, which is handled by Google under its own privacy policy).
• This feature is optional — you can type in plain English/Gujarati keyboard input instead, or use the App entirely offline for viewing, editing and organizing existing PDFs.
• A small number of recent word lookups are cached temporarily on your device (in app memory) purely to make repeated words load instantly; this cache is not sent anywhere and clears when the App is closed.

Use of Google's transliteration service is subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

4. Permissions the App Uses

• Storage / "All files access" (MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE): used only to list, open, save and manage PDF files on your device (via MediaStore) so the App can show your existing PDFs in its library and save new/edited PDFs back to your device. Files are read and written locally; nothing is uploaded.
• Camera: used only for the Scan to PDF feature (document scanning) to capture pages you choose to scan. Captured images are processed and saved on-device.
• Biometric / fingerprint (optional): if you enable App Lock with biometric unlock, authentication is handled entirely by the Android operating system's biometric APIs. The App never receives or stores your fingerprint or face data — it only receives a yes/no "authenticated" result from the OS.

5. Data Stored Locally on Your Device

To provide app functionality, GujaratiPDF stores the following locally on your device only (never transmitted to us):

• Your PDF library, folders, favorites, recent files, and the Recycle Bin (deleted files kept for a configurable retention period before permanent removal)
• Saved signature templates you create in the Sign tool
• App settings: theme, language, keep-screen-on, scan quality, page setup defaults, bin retention period
• Your App Lock PIN (if you set one), stored locally on-device
• Gujarati Document drafts you save while writing

Uninstalling the App removes this locally stored data, subject to Android's normal app-data behavior.

6. Advertising & Analytics

GujaratiPDF integrates the Google AdMob SDK for banner and interstitial ads, and Google Firebase (Remote Config) to control whether ads are shown. Ads are currently switched off for all users — no ad content is served, and the SDKs do not load or display ads while switched off — but the SDKs are included in the app and may be enabled in a future release without an app update. Firebase Remote Config collects a device identifier (Firebase Installations ID) to determine which users receive which configuration; this identifier is not linked to your PDF content, files, or any personal information. When ads are enabled, Google AdMob may collect device and advertising identifiers to serve and measure ads, subject to Google's Privacy Policy. We do not use any other third-party analytics SDKs.

7. Children's Privacy

GujaratiPDF is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since the App does not collect personal data from any user in the first place, this risk is inherently limited.

8. Data Security

Because your documents and files never leave your device (aside from the individual phonetic words described in Section 3), the security of your content depends primarily on your own device's security (screen lock, disk encryption, and the App's own optional PIN/biometric App Lock). We recommend keeping your device's operating system up to date.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App's features. We will update the "Last updated" date above when changes are made. Continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
